Artist statement
I’ve been painting with dyes on silk for 30 years still can’t wait to get to my basement studio each day. The fluid medium has enough unpredictability to keep me excited and guessing. The new ideas come fast, and one leads to the next.|
Silk scarves, wall hangings and other dyed wearables are Agner's specialty — colorful, light and gossamer but strong and durable. Shaping edges on silk with shimmery paint frees her from the simple rectangle and gives Agner new possibilities! |
Agner also uses paint, pastel and monoprinting to expand her possibilites for expression. The landscapes of North Georgia's rolling hills provide daily inspiration. |
